Slow fade
A slow fade is a gradual, unspoken end to a relationship or a dating connection — contact thins out, replies slow down, plans get cancelled, without anyone ever calling it a breakup.
Unlike ghosting, which is sudden, a slow fade gives the other person false hope that it's just a temporarily busy patch.
